With less than a month to go until the opening of CPHI Milan 2026, the global pharmaceutical supply chain is turning its attention to precision drug delivery devices—a category that is reshaping the diagnosis and treatment of chronic diseases. This exhibition, which annually attracts over 62,000 industry professionals from 166 countries, will also serve as a key platform for China’s new generation of innovative medical device companies. KenDor Technology, a medical device company founded in Ningbo just four years ago, will make its European trade-show debut at the event, presenting its self-developed portfolio at Booth 11F117.
A category in transition
For four decades, precision injection devices have been led by a small group of well-established players, headquartered largely in Denmark, Switzerland and the United States. Their early-mover advantage grew into dense patent estates and trusted brands—formidable barriers for any new entrant. Entering the category means navigating an intricate patent landscape, securing medical device regulatory certifications, building precision manufacturing at scale, and earning qualification as an approved supplier to pharmaceutical companies. As a result, the global pen-injector market has long been dominated by Western brands, while Chinese manufacturers were largely confined to low-margin OEM work.
That picture is now changing. The rapid global rise of GLP-1 receptor agonist therapies has sharply expanded demand for self-administration devices. Combined with the broad improvement of precision-manufacturing capabilities in China, these forces have given domestic players both the market pull and the industrial base to move up the value chain—and to pursue core technology rather than contract assembly. R&D at the root: building an independent IP moat
Founded in Ningbo in June 2022, KenDor Technology set a dual-track strategy from the outset—precision drug delivery and laboratory consumables—with the vision of becoming a one-stop global provider of precision drug delivery solutions. R&D investment and patent strategy were treated as a matter of corporate survival. In its first year, the company concentrated resources on core technologies, assembling a multi-disciplinary R&D team to design around the existing patent landscape from first principles.
By 2026, KenDor had secured a portfolio of invention and utility-model patents in pen-injector technology, covering anti-accidental-operation mechanisms, injection feedback systems and recyclable, environmentally friendly designs. The company is also among the drafting units of the Chinese group standard T/FDSA 0160-2026 for pen injectors. Every product in its portfolio has undergone a Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) analysis, addressing IP risk at the source. Around its core pen-injector line, KenDor has developed parallel product families—including peptide delivery devices and aerosol devices for COPD—spanning a broad spectrum of chronic-disease treatment scenarios.
Product Roll-out: Full-matrix commercial validation
KenDor’s product matrix pairs mature, commercially validated devices with next-generation launches. Its flagship disposable pen injector, “KENDORPEN® SmartFlex Pro”, has undergone commercial validation through 50 million real-world applications. It offers precise and stable dose control, addressing long-standing industry pain points such as operational jamming, dose deviations and the risk of accidental activation. At CPHI China in Shanghai in June 2026, the device — recognized for its proprietary design and smooth user experience — drew the attention of the R&D team at Ypsomed, a global leader in drug delivery systems, and led to an in-depth, peer-level technical exchange between the two companies.
A second new device, the “KENDORPEN® TwistFit” disposable pen injector, is scheduled to reach commercial launch in the second half of 2026. It shortens the pen body, refines grip curvature and adds anti-slip features for improved ergonomics, portability and handling, and is compatible with insulin, GLP-1 and other formulations. A third device, the “KENDORPEN® PurePlast” eco-friendly pen injector, is molded in a single piece from recyclable medical-grade plastic with no embedded metal components—a design aligned with the ESG priorities of global pharmaceutical companies, reducing device waste and lifecycle carbon emissions while meeting green-procurement standards in premium overseas markets. Across the portfolio, KenDor supports pharma-partner customization, adapting to different cartridge sizes and pre-filled container formats.
Milan debut: facing global leaders on equal terms
From 6 to 8 October 2026, KenDor Technology will exhibit at CPHI Milan at Booth 11F117—its first appearance on one of Europe’s most important pharmaceutical industry stages. That debut rests on more than ambition. It is grounded in an R&D-first philosophy, a growing independent patent estate and millions of validated product cycles.
