New constant current driver lets fixture manufacturers set output current, dimming behavior and more by RFID or NFC, with no cables and no power required.



GAINESVILLE, GA, November 06, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- GRE Alpha Electronics, a manufacturer of LED power supplies, dimming modules and lighting control accessories, has launched the GCPD040-RF, an ultra compact, 40W constant current, 0-10V dimmable LED driver that can be programmed wirelessly and is smaller than a business card.

The GCPD040-RF measures 78 x 40 x 29 mm (3.1 x 1.6 x 1.1 in), with a footprint smaller than a standard business card. It is built for any space constrained fixture where designers still expect smooth, flicker-free dimming.

PROGRAM WITHOUT CABLES OR POWER

The GCPD040-RF can be configured two ways, neither of which needs a cable or power to the driver:
- RFID with PC software
Program a single driver or a batch of drivers at once on an RFID programming pad, which speeds up configuration on the production line.
- NFC with a mobile app
Configure drivers in the field from a phone. Write access is password-protected, so settings can't be changed without authorization.

Through either method, manufacturers and installers can set output current anywhere from 200 to 1400mA, along with minimum dim level, dimming curve and other parameters. One stocked driver can therefore serve many fixture designs.

FLEXIBLE DIMMING FOR COMMERCIAL SPACES

The GCPD040-RF gives lighting designers control over how a space dims:
- 0-10V or 1-10V dimmable
- Wirelessly programmable minimum dimming presets (1%, 10%, or Dim-To-Off) and dimming types (Logarithmic or Linear)
- Flicker-free – compliant with IEEE 1789 (tested from 50% to 100% of maximum current)

BUILT FOR RELIABILITY

The driver accepts a universal 120-277V AC input and delivers up to 40W of constant current output, with a 20-43V DC output range. It reaches up to 87% efficiency, draws less than 0.5W on standby and is IP64 compliant.

The driver also has an NTC input for an external temperature sensor and multiple built-in protection features.

CERTIFIED AND BACKED BY A 5-YEAR WARRANTY

The GCPD040-RF is UL Listed (Class P, Class 2), meets UL 8750 and CSA C22.2 and is RoHS compliant. It also meets EU Ecodesign Regulation 2019/2020 and carries a 5-year warranty.
